The Virginia Tech Hokies continue to make waves in the spring transfer portal, with former Auburn offensive lineman announcing Tuesday that he’s joining the program.
He, a 6-foot-3, 312-pound native of Berryville, Oklahoma, started his college career at Tulsa, where he played under current Hokies offensive coordinator Phillip Montgomery, then the head coach.

During his time at Tulsa, He played in 20 games across three seasons, serving as the starting right tackle in 2022. He later transferred to Auburn, following Montgomery, who had taken over as the Tigers’ offensive coordinator.

While at Auburn, Muskrat saw action in every game over two seasons, primarily in a reserve role at left tackle.
He becomes Virginia Tech’s 10th addition via the spring portal and the second offensive lineman, joining Gavin Crawford. The Hokies had also picked up three offensive linemen during the winter transfer period. Muskrat is expected to compete for a starting spot this summer and could line up at either tackle or guard.
Welcome to Blacksburg, Jaden.
