BREAKING NEWS: Cardinals’ $87.5 Million Deal Land Pass Rusher

The Arizona Cardinals will be looking to bolster their pass rush this offseason after struggling to generate pressure on opposing quarterbacks throughout the 2024 season.

While the return of B.J. Ojulari should help, it won’t be enough to transform their defense into a playoff-caliber unit. To truly make an impact, the Cardinals need to add a proven edge rusher.

Sterling Xie of Pro Football and Sports Network predicts that Arizona could address this need by trading for Tennessee Titans linebacker Harold Landry. Not only would Landry improve the Cardinals’ pass rush, but he could also help shore up their run defense, another area of concern from 2024.

Landry has been a consistent force for the Titans, missing just one game as a rookie and staying healthy in five of the six seasons since—his only missed year coming after an ACL tear.

In his last five full seasons, he has posted sack totals of nine, 5.5, 12, 10.5, and nine while also recording between 10 and 15 tackles for loss each year. His 12-sack campaign even earned him a Pro Bowl selection.

Beyond rushing the passer, Landry has also been a factor against the run. According to Pro Football Focus, he registered 38 stops in the run game last season.

The Cardinals could certainly use that kind of presence after allowing 4.6 yards per carry in 2024, ranking eighth-worst in the league.

With Landry turning 29 soon and carrying a significant cap hit if the Titans keep him, Tennessee has given him permission to seek a trade. Given those circumstances, the asking price for him could be reasonable.

For a Cardinals team in need of defensive upgrades, acquiring the former Pro Bowler would be a move worth considering.
