BREAKING NEWS: Browns Confirmed Blockbuster Trade With Saints

The Cleveland Browns hold the No. 2 overall pick in the NFL Draft, along with nine additional selections in later rounds, giving them ample flexibility to navigate the draft board and secure their desired prospects.

With this many picks and the chance to select Shedeur Sanders at No. 2, quarterback-needy teams are expected to show interest in a trade. One insider predicts the New Orleans Saints could be the most aggressive suitor.

Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report recently speculated on a potential trade scenario between the two teams:

Proposed Trade:

  • Saints Receive: 2025 No. 2 overall pick, 2025 fourth-round pick
  • Browns Receive: 2025 No. 9 overall pick, 2025 third-round pick, 2026 first-round pick

Davenport noted that while the Saints should focus on accumulating draft capital and addressing their financial struggles, GM Mickey Loomis doesn’t see the team as being in rebuild mode. With Derek Carr serving as a short-term solution at best, an aggressive move for Sanders would align with the franchise’s past decision-making.

However, dropping from No. 2 to No. 9 could warrant an even larger return for Cleveland, especially since it would take them out of contention for top prospects like Abdul Carter or Travis Hunter. The consensus is that the draft’s elite tier ends after the fourth pick, with Carter, Hunter, Sanders, and Cam Ward widely regarded as the top four players.

Given the Saints’ dire cap situation and their pressing need for a long-term quarterback, their interest in a move up makes sense—especially if the new regime isn’t convinced by Carr.

With the draft still weeks away, Browns fans should brace for more trade speculation as the rumor mill continues to turn.
