The Los Angeles Dodgers are making waves this offseason, adding star players to their roster at a rapid pace.
Just one day after signing Japanese pitching sensation Roki Sasaki, the Dodgers bolstered their bullpen by reaching an agreement with Tanner Scott.
Roki Sasaki Joins Dodgers, Igniting Fan Discussions Across MLB
According to ESPN’s Jeff Passan, Sasaki’s deal is worth four years and $72 million, while MassLive’s Sean McAdam suggested the closer could earn up to $80 million over four years—a range the Dodgers appear to be paying.

The Boston Red Sox were rumored to be interested in Scott earlier in the offseason, even after signing Aroldis Chapman. However, once Chapman joined, Scott’s chances of heading to Boston seemed to diminish. It remains uncertain whether Chapman will serve as the team’s closer.
Scott had an outstanding 2024 season, recording a 1.75 ERA over 72 games split between the Miami Marlins and San Diego Padres.
The left-hander now joins the reigning World Series champions, who continue to assert themselves as the team to beat in MLB. Alongside Scott and Sasaki, the Dodgers also added two-time Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell to their roster earlier this offseason.
