Coach Sean McDermott mentioned that he and General Manager Brandon Beane are considering options to bring in a replacement. Matt Barkley, who was the team’s third-string QB in 2022 and is currently a free agent, might be a suitable choice to fill the role for the rest of training camp and the preseason.

Buechele, 26, who played college football at Texas and SMU and has been with the Chiefs and the Bills, had a tough outing in the game, completing six of ten passes for 53 yards with no touchdowns, one interception, and was sacked six times.
