However, their pursuit of additional offensive support might not end there. The Mariners could turn to the Miami Marlins for further assistance. Miami is expected to be a key seller at the trade deadline this year, and Jazz Chisholm Jr. is a potential trade target. Tim Kelly from Bleacher Report suggested that Seattle might consider making a deal for Chisholm.

This move would add another left-handed bat to the Mariners’ roster, and Chisholm could step in at shortstop while J.P. Crawford is sidelined for 4-6 weeks with a finger fracture. However, the Mariners would need to trade several players to make this deal happen. Miami will likely demand significant assets in return. Seattle has a deep pool of starting pitchers, and Chisholm could be acquired by trading from that surplus. Right-hander Bryce Miller, who has emerged as a solid middle-of-the-rotation starter with considerable upside, could be appealing to the Marlins.
Seattle has already seen some play from outfielder Jonatan Clase, known for his speed and base-stealing ability, who is currently ranked No. 10 in their system. Utility infielder Michael Arroyo, ranked No. 9, is recognized for his batting skills, power potential, and strong arm.
This trade would bolster the Marlins’ prospect pool and provide them with two MLB-ready players to aid their future plans.
