The Los Angeles Dodgers have made a second move following Roki Sasaki’s announcement.
After acquiring international bonus pool money in a trade with the Philadelphia Phillies, the Dodgers have now completed a similar deal with the Cincinnati Reds.
This time, they sent minor league outfielder Arnaldo Lantigua to the Reds in exchange for additional bonus pool funds.

Reports indicate that the Dodgers are set to sign Sasaki with a $6.5 million signing bonus. Thanks to these two trades, it seems Los Angeles has secured more than enough to fulfill that commitment.

According to MLB insider Francys Romero, the Dodgers are receiving over $1 million in international bonus pool money from the deals, likely bringing their total to around $7 million or more.
This not only ensures the Sasaki signing but also positions the Dodgers to potentially pursue additional international prospects during this signing period.
Initially, the team had asked their 2025 signees to delay until 2026. However, with Sasaki now locked in, the Dodgers can proceed to bolster their international class for the 2025 signing period.
