According to a statement from the Colts, the team signed White in May. He was a versatile player for Texas Tech, serving as both a wide receiver and a kick returner:

White, who is 5’10” and 190 pounds, joined the Colts as an undrafted free agent on May 9, 2024. During his time at Texas Tech (2019-23), he played in 51 games, starting nine, and amassed 133 receptions for 1,524 yards (11.5 avg.) and six touchdowns. He also had 136 carries for 754 yards (5.5 avg.) and five touchdowns.

In addition to his offensive contributions, White was active in the return game, with 19 kickoff returns for 407 yards (21.4 avg.) and five punt returns for 46 yards (9.2 avg.).

Although White had limited time to showcase his skills during training camp, he is expected to attract interest from receiver-needy teams in the preseason.

Laquon Treadwell signed with the Colts

According to the Colts, veteran receiver Laquon Treadwell will take White’s place on the 90-man roster. Standing at 6-2 and 215 pounds, Treadwell has played in 81 career games (24 starts) with various teams: the Baltimore Ravens (2023), Seattle Seahawks (2022), Arizona Cardinals (2022), New England Patriots (2022), Jacksonville Jaguars (2021), Atlanta Falcons (2020), and Minnesota Vikings (2016-19). Throughout his career, he has amassed 111 receptions for 1,242 yards (11.2 average) and five touchdowns.

Treadwell has also participated in four postseason games. He was originally drafted by the Vikings in the first round (23rd overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft out of Mississippi. In 2023, Treadwell spent time on the Ravens’ active roster and practice squad, appearing in five games (one start) and recording one catch for 16 yards.

In the preseason, Treadwell, a former first-round pick, should have the opportunity to secure a spot on the Colts’ 53-man roster or practice squad. According to Pro Football Focus, the Colts’ receiving corps is ranked 22nd in the league.
