Ohio State football may be seeing some key defensive players depart for the NFL Draft this weekend, but the reigning national champions scored a major victory in the college football transfer portal on Wednesday—this time, from North Carolina.
The Buckeyes officially added Beau Atkinson to their roster, as first reported by Hayes Fawcett of On3. Head coach Ryan Day not only picked up a top-tier defensive talent, but also dealt an early blow to new North Carolina head coach Bill Belichick, who loses one of his top defenders in Atkinson.
During his time at Chapel Hill, Atkinson recorded 54 total tackles and 11 sacks over two seasons, also forcing a fumble. He brings serious size and strength to Ohio State’s defensive line, standing at an imposing 6-foot-6 and weighing 260 pounds—an exciting addition for the national title holde
