The last few days have been an emotional rollercoaster for the Auburn Tigers basketball team. Since the close of the 2024-25 season, the Tigers have consistently found themselves in the spotlight.

The latest update centers on Denver Jones, who has officially bid farewell to the program. He’s now joined Johni Broome and Tahaad Pettiford in declaring for the NBA Draft. Pettiford, however, has chosen to retain his NCAA eligibility, leaving the door open for a possible return.

Coach Bruce Pearl has wasted no time getting to work, already focused on reloading the roster and preparing for a strong 2025-26 campaign. While Denver Jones’ departure is tough for both fans and teammates, it’s what followed his goodbye that captured the most attention.

Jones shared a heartfelt message on social media: “Wouldn’t trade this for anything in the world. #Auburnman4L”

The post was met with plenty of support, but the standout response came from the official Auburn Men’s Basketball Instagram account, which commented, “Auburn Legend.”

That’s high praise, especially considering the rich legacy of Auburn basketball, which includes stars like Chuck Person, Mike Mitchell, Charles Barkley, Wesley Person, and Eddie Johnson.
