Former Oregon defensive lineman Johnny Bowens III is moving to the AAC. Bowens, who appeared in three games and redshirted last season, entered the transfer portal in April and committed to UTSA on Friday. He will begin his redshirt-freshman season with four years of eligibility remaining.
Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 290 pounds, Bowens recorded two tackles in his three games last season. He was a four-star recruit from Judson High School in Texas, ranked No. 212 nationally and No. 26 among defensive linemen in the 2023 247Sports Composite rankings.
