Alabama’s 2024 recruiting class is packed with blue-chip prospects and is ranked second in the nation. This group is already making an impact, with several players potentially ready to contribute in their first year.
Five-star wide receiver Ryan Williams and five-star cornerback Zabien Brown are well-prepared to make an immediate impact. Both are expected to play significant roles, possibly as starters, when the season begins against Western Kentucky on August 31st.

Brown was part of an exceptionally talented secondary class for the Crimson Tide. Fellow freshmen Jaylen Mbakwe, Zay Mincey, and Red Morgan could also become rotational players in the secondary. Mbakwe has made significant progress this offseason, impressing the coaching staff during fall camp, and is pushing hard for early playing time at corner.

Red Morgan was a standout during spring practice, displaying maturity and readiness while playing with the first team at the Husky position. Although redshirt junior Devonta Smith is likely to start, Morgan has proven himself reliable and has created strong competition for the role.
Linebacker Justin Okoronkwo has also shown potential during the offseason. As a product of Germany, he might not see much playing time in his first year due to Alabama’s experienced depth at inside linebacker, which includes veterans Deontae Lawson, Jihaad Campbell, Justin Jefferson, and Jeremiah Alexander. However, Okoronkwo has demonstrated that he has the ability to contribute in the future.
On the offensive side, true freshman Caleb Odom has flown under the radar due to the attention surrounding Ryan Williams. Standing at 6’5” and nearly 230 pounds, Odom brings a new dimension to Alabama’s receiver corps. Originally one of the top tight ends in the 2024 class, his mobility and athleticism have allowed him to transition to wide receiver at the SEC level. He’s already making a name for himself, highlighted by a remarkable catch during the first fall scrimmage.
Odom’s talent and unique skill set could make him a key player in Alabama’s offense in 2024.
