PrizePicks is continuing its California expansion through a new partnership as the official daily fantasy sports (DFS) partner of the San Francisco Giants.

The DFS leader announced on Thursday that it has signed a multi-year agreement with the MLB team, which includes prominent branding at Oracle Park, the Giants’ home since 2000. As part of the deal, PrizePicks will feature rotating signage throughout the stadium and will sponsor a branded strikeout counter that updates with each home strikeout by a Giants pitcher.

“The Giants are constantly seeking creative ways to elevate the fan experience,” said PrizePicks CRO Jason Pearl. “This partnership gives fans new opportunities to connect with the team and with the game itself.”

How the San Francisco Giants End the Season Could Impact Their Offseason

As part of the promotion, fans can enter a text-to-win contest when Giants pitchers tally 12 strikeouts in a home game, with a chance to win a $12,000 PrizePicks lineup and tickets to a Giants home game.

This marks PrizePicks’ second partnership with an MLB team in April.

Earlier in the week, the Atlanta-based company announced a similar deal with the San Diego Padres, marking its first collaboration with a professional sports team in California. That agreement includes branding at Petco Park.

To celebrate the Padres deal, PrizePicks launched a text-to-enter contest offering fans a chance to win a $10,000 lineup and tickets when the Padres score 10 or more runs at home.

Beyond the Padres and Giants, PrizePicks also has a partnership with the Atlanta Braves.

DFS operations in California

PrizePicks has gained a presence in Florida, where daily fantasy sports (DFS) regulations are largely absent.

California, on the other hand, has no clear laws explicitly legalizing DFS, which allows companies to operate in a legal gray area. This regulatory gap has prompted lawmakers to urge the state’s Attorney General to review and clarify the legal status and oversight of DFS.

The legal status of DFS often hinges on whether these contests are classified as games of skill or chance. In California, current gaming laws do not prohibit games of skill, which could impact how DFS is treated under the law.
