BREAKING: “Really Excited” Hugh Freeze Shared Big News About Auburn’s QB Jackson Arnold

Hugh Freeze is hoping that Oklahoma’s loss will end up being Auburn’s gain.

The Tigers’ head coach sees potential in the situation surrounding quarterback Jackson Arnold, who didn’t find success during his time at Oklahoma.

Now, Freeze hopes Arnold’s move to Auburn could be the spark both he and the team need. With Freeze facing pressure after compiling an 11-14 overall record and a 5-11 mark in SEC play over his first two seasons, Arnold’s arrival offers a promising fresh start.

Arnold, after two seasons in Norman where the Sooners’ offense struggled enough to cost offensive coordinator Seth Littrell his job, is now at Auburn—another SEC school with a rich football tradition.

Freeze believes this new opportunity could lead to big things for both Arnold and the Tigers. He shared his thoughts during an appearance on The Paul Finebaum Show on Monday.

“I’m really excited about Jackson,” Freeze said. “He’s got everything you want in a top quarterback—arm strength, mobility, football IQ. He just needed a reset. What I saw from him this spring was really encouraging. His confidence is growing.”

Freeze did acknowledge that true confidence will be tested when the season starts and the games begin. Still, coming out of spring practice, he believes both his and Arnold’s high expectations at Auburn are within reach.
