CINCINNATI — Bengals center Ted Karras joined The Pat McAfee Show ahead of the weekend, expressing his excitement about Cincinnati securing its offensive playmakers for the future.
Karras is thrilled that Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase have their contract situations settled, allowing them to focus on the upcoming season without distractions.
“We’re keeping our top players in-house,” Karras said, emphasizing the importance of retaining talent. “One of the biggest strategies for winning in the NFL is developing high draft picks into great players and keeping them. I’m really happy for those guys—they’ve put in the work. Having those top three guys solidified makes our offense very dangerous.”

Cincinnati led the league in passing yards and touchdowns last season, and now, without contract uncertainties, the unit is poised to reach even greater heights.
“It’s a huge advantage not having a hold-in situation with Ja’Marr this year,” Karras added. “It may not seem like a big deal in an NFL locker room, but if it drags on, it can become a distraction.”
Looking ahead, Karras acknowledged the pressure on Cincinnati to return to the playoffs. The veteran center, now 32, is also entering a contract year himself.
