As Jim Harbaugh continues to reshape the Los Angeles Chargers in his second year at the helm, one of the team’s most prominent players of the past decade may be on his way out.
Edge rusher, a former NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year and five-time Pro Bowler, is expected to be released before he collects a $12.36 million roster bonus next month, according to ESPN’s Dan Graziano.
He has been on the team’s radar for a potential departure since last season, though he ultimately restructured his contract to stay with the Chargers for 2024.
He is coming off his healthiest season since 2021, appearing in 14 games and recording 22 total tackles, five sacks, and 13 quarterback hits.
With a $12.36 million roster bonus and a $13 million salary for 2025, it seems unlikely Bosa will remain with the team on his current deal.
However, Graziano notes that the Chargers and Bosa could negotiate a new contract. If not, he will join a deep group of star pass rushers available this offseason.

That list includes his Chargers teammate Khalil Mack, who is set to hit free agency, as well as Cleveland Browns star Myles Garrett, who has reportedly requested a trade.
Eagles defenders Josh Sweat and Milton Williams could also be on the move following their dominant Super Bowl LIX performance. Additionally, Haason Reddick is set to test free agency again after a brief stint with the New York Jets, while Maxx Crosby and even Micah Parsons have been mentioned in trade speculation.
