Kaiden Prothro, a top tight end prospect in the 2026 class, revealed his final five schools on Thursday through On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Prothro’s top choices are all SEC programs, with Auburn, Florida, Alabama, Texas, and Georgia making the cut.

Landing Prothro would be a major boost for Auburn’s 2026 recruiting class and mark head coach Hugh Freeze’s first tight-end commitment for the cycle.

Auburn’s current 2026 class includes four-star prospects Hezekiah Harris (edge rusher), Devin Carter (receiver), Shadarius Toodle (linebacker), JaMichael Garrett (linebacker), Denairius Gray (receiver), and three-star safety Wayne Henry. Prothro would also become the Tigers’ first five-star commit for 2026.

The 6-foot-7, 210-pound tight end from Bowdon, Georgia, is ranked among the top 32 recruits in the 2026 class, according to On3. The 247Sports Composite lists him as the No. 21 overall prospect and the second-ranked tight end in his class.

Auburn’s top tight end in receiving yards last season was Rivaldo Fairweather, who recorded 372 yards and two touchdowns. The FIU transfer had previously led the team in 2023 with 394 yards and six touchdowns.

However, Fairweather has declared for the 2025 NFL Draft and played in the East-West Shrine Bowl alongside Auburn teammates KeAndre Lambert-Smith and Payton Thorne.

The Tigers currently have two tight ends committed for 2025—four-star Hollis Davidson and three-star Ryan Ghea. Additionally, Auburn secured former Maryland tight end Preston Howard through the transfer portal.

After a 5-7 finish in 2024 that left Auburn out of bowl contention, Freeze aims to get the program back on track in 2025.
