The Los Angeles Dodgers finalized a five-year, $74 million contract on Friday. The deal includes a team option for the 2030 season and replaces the $16.5 million, two-year contract he signed with the St. Louis Cardinals in February, which had included a $9.5 million salary for 2025.
He, acquired from the Cardinals in a three-team trade with the Chicago White Sox on July 29, posted a .237 batting average with six home runs and 20 RBIs in 37 games.
He excelled in the postseason, earning NL Championship Series MVP honors by hitting .407 with 11 RBIs and batting .320 with two homers and 13 RBIs as the Dodgers captured the World Series title.
The 29-year-old versatile player, who covers second base, shortstop, and outfield positions, has a career .263 average with 59 home runs, 242 RBIs, and 112 stolen bases over six seasons with the Cardinals and Dodgers. He was set to reach free agency following the 2025 World Series.
