The Los Angeles Dodgers struck gold in last winter’s free agency by signing outfielder to a one-year deal. He thrived in a Dodgers uniform, playing a key role in their 2024 World Series championship run.
Now, as a free agent, He has the freedom to sign with any team. While he’s expressed a desire to stay with the Dodgers, financial considerations could ultimately dictate his next move.
According to Nick Villano of FanSided, He might not return to Los Angeles in 2025. Instead, Villano predicts a surprising destination: the Minnesota Twins.
“After the disastrous end to their season, it’s unlikely the Twins will stand pat,” Villano noted. “Though the team is exploring a sale—which can lead to cautious spending—Hernández isn’t commanding the kind of contract that would significantly impact franchise valuation.”
Spotrac estimates Hernández’s next contract at three years and $71 million—a figure well within the Twins’ budget, particularly if he becomes their marquee offseason acquisition.

Landing Hernández would be a major move for the Twins, but it remains to be seen if the Dodgers will let him walk. Given his stellar performance and vocal loyalty, Los Angeles could make a strong offer to keep him in blue and white.
