Since the USC Trojans will be on the road for their first-ever Big Ten game in Week Four, they won’t be able to host recruits that weekend.

The USC Trojans kicked off September strong on the recruiting front.

In just three weeks, Lincoln Riley and his staff secured commitments from four promising players in the 2025 and 2026 classes—Ja’Myron Baker, Ty Jackson, Viliami Moala, and Jerome Myles have all committed to Southern Cal since the start of the month.

However, this weekend presents a key challenge for the Trojans to maintain their recruiting momentum, as they head to Michigan for their first-ever Big Ten game.

With USC on the road, there won’t be an opportunity to host recruits in Los Angeles, meaning several USC targets will be visiting other schools this weekend.

Shamar Arnoux, Safety

USC commit and Carrollton (GA) native Shamar Arnoux will be visiting Auburn this weekend for their game against Arkansas. Arnoux, a 5-star recruit, is ranked as the No. 120 overall player and the No. 12 safety in the 2025 class.

Auburn remains in the race to flip the 6-foot-1 defensive back’s commitment from USC, according to On3. However, they’ll need a strong showing against Arkansas, especially if USC manages to beat Michigan.

The Tigers have already lost to California this season, so they’ll need to deliver a solid performance with Arnoux in attendance to sway him away from USC and defensive coordinator D’Anton Lynn.

Tobi Haastrup, Edge

After receiving an offer from the USC Trojans on September 14, Mayde Creek (TX) edge rusher Tobi Haastrup is set to visit LSU this weekend.

Haastrup, from the Houston area, finds Baton Rouge relatively close to his high school, making the trip convenient for the highly sought-after recruit.

Ranked as the No. 276 overall prospect and the No. 21 edge rusher nationally by 247Sports Composite, Haastrup would be a significant addition to USC’s 2025 recruiting class.

Following their Week 1 victory over LSU, USC head coach Lincoln Riley and his staff may have an edge in Haastrup’s recruitment if they can bring the talented defensive lineman to campus.

Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng, Linebacker

5-star linebacker Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng from IMG Academy (FL) has recently named USC among his top six schools, but he will be on the opposing side when the Trojans face the Wolverines. Currently ranked as the No. 18 overall prospect and the top linebacker in the country by Rivals, Owusu-Boateng plans to visit Michigan on September 21 during the USC game in Ann Arbor.

Steve Wiltfong noted that Owusu-Boateng is returning to campus after several previous visits, and he described his official visit in June as the highlight of his recruitment process. If USC can defeat Michigan in Week 4 while Owusu-Boateng is present, it could significantly improve their chances of securing this top-tier linebacker.
