Bleacher Report has identified new Atlanta Hawks big man Larry Nance Jr. as an ideal trade target for the Sacramento Kings.

The Sacramento Kings have bolstered their talented roster for the 2024-25 season, but despite acquiring six-time All-Star DeMar DeRozan, they still have a gap in their lineup.

With a core of DeRozan, De’Aaron Fox, Domantas Sabonis, and Malik Monk, the Kings are building one of the NBA’s most potent offenses. However, their limited forward depth and potential defensive issues are raising concerns among fans.

Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report suggested three realistic trade targets for the Kings, highlighting Atlanta Hawks forward Larry Nance Jr. as a prime candidate.

Nance is a talented, versatile defender who can play the four or five and would be the best big man in Sacramento’s second unit.

Larry Nance Jr., 31, is set to begin his tenth NBA season after spending the past two and a half years with the New Orleans Pelicans. This offseason, New Orleans traded him to the Atlanta Hawks in a blockbuster deal that brought Dejounte Murray to their backcourt.

During his last season with the Pelicans, Nance posted averages of 5.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.3 combined steals and blocks per game while shooting an impressive 57.3% from the field, 41.5% from three, and 77.0% from the free-throw line. His career-best shooting percentages from beyond the arc and the line made him a dependable contributor in New Orleans’ offense.

Known for his high-flying dunks, Nance also brings defensive versatility, making him a strong fit for Sacramento’s system. His offensive output is similar to that of the Kings’ Trey Lyles, but Nance offers greater defensive potential, which could provide an upgrade for Sacramento’s second unit.

Nance is in the final year of his contract, valued at $11.2 million, and has a history of missing 15 or more games each season. If he underperforms in Atlanta and the Kings seek to make a move before February’s trade deadline, a trade involving Nance, as suggested by Swartz, could become a realistic option for Sacramento.
