Tennessee’s hot streak in recruiting continued this afternoon with another key addition to their 2025 class. The Volunteers secured a commitment from four-star cornerback Onis Konanbanny.

Hailing from South Carolina, Konanbanny is ranked 302nd overall in the 2025 cycle according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s the fourth-best player in his state and the 28th-ranked cornerback in his class.

Standing at 6’1″ and 180 pounds, Konanbanny fits Tennessee’s prototype for a cornerback. His background is unique; having moved from England in 2022, he transitioned from soccer to football and has quickly made a name for himself.

Konanbanny chose Tennessee over offers from powerhouse programs like Florida State, LSU, Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, and several others. While he may be considered raw, his athletic potential is evident based on his offer list.

With this latest commitment, Tennessee now has 24 recruits in their 2025 class. Konanbanny joins recent additions such as five-star tackle David Sanders, four-star safety Logonza Hayward, four-star tight end Da’Saahn Brame, and four-star linebacker Jaedon Harmon. This comes on the heels of landing Faizon Brandon, the top-ranked player in the 2026 class.

The Volunteers have now secured four cornerbacks in their 2025 class: Konanbanny, Tre Poteat, Tyler Redmond, and Dylan Lewis.
