The New Orleans Pelicans have officially signed forward Javonte Green, as noted in the NBA transactions log.
Green, 31, stands 6-foot-4 and has spent most of his career with the Chicago Bulls, where he played in nine games last season after securing a couple of 10-day contracts. He was signed to a standard contract in March and went on to average 12.2 points and 7.4 rebounds over nine games, shooting 60% from the field and 37% from beyond the arc.

From 2020 to 2023, Green was intermittently with the Bulls. Additionally, he spent part of last season with the Santa Cruz Warriors, the NBA G League affiliate of the Golden State Warriors.
During the 2022-23 season, Green played 32 games for Chicago, posting averages of 5.2 points and 2.8 rebounds, with shooting percentages of 56% from the field and 32% from three-point range.
He initially signed a training camp contract with the Warriors last October but was waived shortly thereafter. In his 10 games with Santa Cruz, he averaged 12.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.3 steals.
Overall, Green has played in 195 NBA games with the Bulls and Boston Celtics, and has also spent time with the Maine Red Claws in the G League.
In 2021, Green was traded from the Celtics to the Bulls, along with Daniel Theis, in a three-team deal that sent Luke Kornet and Moritz Wagner to Boston. Theis is now also a member of the Pelicans.
With Green’s signing, the Pelicans now have 15 players under contract, including 13 guaranteed contracts. Their three two-way spots are also filled.
Last season, New Orleans finished with a 49-33 record before being eliminated by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Green’s deal with New Orleans is for one year.
